Via Ethan Zuckerman, these media attention cartograms are absolutely brilliant. They show the amount of “attention” various media sources give to individual countries, with shapes distorted to reflect relative weightings. Of course, there’s no reason why geographical size should be a proxy for importance, but there are graphic distortions in coverage to be gleaned from the maps.
